As a biotechnologist in training, my question to Dr Peter Piper study is: Sodium benzoate is a preservative, i.e. it can kill micro organism like bacteria, fungi and YEAST. It is no doubt that sodium benzoate can cause toxic effect to microorganism like YEAST! Showing toxic effect of DDT to a bug is non-sense. The same is true for showing the toxic effect of sodium benzoate to YEAST. In the advance of animal/human cell culture technology, why not conduct the same test on animal or even human mitochondria?
